Wow Spider, fantastic job! Any idea on how many hours you have into this? How many nights laying in bed trying to think of little tweeks that could be done here or there. At work, making notes/memos of things to use on this as soon as you get home. Can't wait for the work day to get done to go home and add something, only to remove what you did 'cause it didn't look as cool as you had pictured it in your mind. Lots of frustration and then a little more. Can't wait to start the next one!! A1 all the way!!! Any plans in the works?!?!

Bruce I have no idea how many hours went into this, I'd have to say hundreds? When I got the pickup is when a general idea started coming to mind. It actually started out to be just a tow vehicle and a drag car on an open trailer. That idea didn't do anything for me and I just started to fly with ideas. The whole thing went through many changes as it started coming together and up until I placed the final pieces on the display. Heck, it may even change again because I never permanently placed any of the items. As things went along I just pictured what I thought would look good and if I liked it then it stayed to become a part of layout. Some things needed to be planned out because there was no turning back after starting (like the inside tire and fuel can racks). Once glued in place they were going to be there permanently so I needed to be sure they were what I wanted. The display looks pretty cool when lit up. Now if I can keep it from getting dusty, I'll be in good shape. I have no real plans for anything new. I had toyed with the idea of a race shop with some Funny Cars but I don't know. Right now I having some fun with the big rig trucks. Hummmm... An idea! How about a road scene with support vehicles, an oversize load rig all sitting along the road at a small old style truck stop diner? That may be something to go with. Could even ad several other trucks and cars at the diner too. might be a bit on the large side though? Don't know if I'd even have room to put something like that but it could be cool. I'll have to give that some thought.
